Tanner Pearson’s ownership increased from 28% to 35% from a week ago when he was featured on Waiver Wired.  Nikita Gusev is still available in 81% of Yahoo leagues.  Alex Iafallo went up from 2% to 8%.  His nine-game point streak ended on Saturday night.

Elvis Merzlikins is currently owned in 36% of Yahoo leagues.  He has stepped up for the Blue Jackets since number one netminder Joonas Korpisalo was injured and he may not be available in most pools for much longer.

Nico Hischier (New Jersey) - C - Owned in 31% of Yahoo leagues

Hischier has accounted for 10 of his 12 goals and 20 of his 28 points in the past 23 games.  He hasn’t missed a beat since Taylor Hall was traded, with seven goals and 12 points in 12 outings since the former Hart Trophy winner was moved to Arizona.  Hischier, who has taken on more of a leadership role with the team, has still been centering New Jersey’s top line and he’s been a stable producer, while operating at a 60-point pace.

Samuel Girard (Colorado) - D - Owned in 27% of Yahoo leagues

Girard appeared on Waiver Wired last week when he was owned in 16% of Yahoo leagues.  He has continued to produce and he has been the hottest blueliner over the last 14 days with 11 assists in six games.  Girard has three power-play points, nine shots on goal, two hits and seven blocks during that span.

Jake DeBrusk (Boston) - LW, RW - Owned in 27% of Yahoo leagues

DeBrusk has started to heat up with three goals and two assists during a three-game point streak.  He was benched two times last week and it seems as though he has received the message.  Boston needs secondary scoring, especially from the second-line duo of DeBrusk and David Krejci.  DeBrusk has some additional value because he has been seeing action on the top power-play unit of the Bruins, which grants him exposure to David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron.

Ilya Kovalchuk (Montreal) - LW, RW - Owned in 22% of Yahoo leagues

Kovalchuk has one goal and three assists in four games since he signed with the Canadiens.  He has racked up 11 shots on goal, eight hits and three blocks during that span as well.  Kovalchuk has been seeing time in Montreal’s top-six forward group due to injuries and he has made an impact, while averaging close to 20 minutes per contest.  It’s unclear what kind of a roll he will have with the team once they return to full health or if they become sellers, but he’s worth riding while he’s hot and highly motivated.

Cam Talbot (Calgary) - G - Owned in 16% of Yahoo leagues

Talbot has started three straight games for the Flames and he has won each of his four outings this month.  He has stopped 126 of 134 shots, while posting a .940 save percentage.  Talbot has lifted his record to 7-7-0 this season with a 2.54 goals-against average and .922 save percentage.  He is worthy of a flier at this time, especially as a handcuff for fantasy owners of David Rittich because a competition for starts may be brewing.

Nick Suzuki (Montreal) - C, RW - Owned in 12% of Yahoo leagues

Suzuki has supplied three goals and nine assists in the last 12 games.  He has posted 24 shots on target during that span and he has been held off the scoresheet just four times over that stretch.  He has scored two power-play goals in the last three games, while skating on the top unit.  The 20-year-old forward has also meshed nicely alongside Max Domi during even-strength situations.  Suzuki has vaulted into fourth place among rookies in scoring with 27 points in 46 contests.

Aaron Dell (San Jose) - G - Owned in 11% of Yahoo leagues

Dell has been excellent between the pipes for the Sharks and he appears to be edging ahead of Martin Jones in the battle for starts.  He has won four of his last five outings, while stopping 138 of 147 shots.  Dell has posted a 1.79 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage during that span.  He is worth scooping up if you have Jones or if you are looking for a hot goaltender.

Dominik Kubalik (Chicago) - LW, RW - Owned in 9% of Yahoo leagues

Kubalik has been on the cusp of appearing on Waiver Wired for the last couple of weeks.  He has accounted for 10 goals and 16 points in the last 17 games.  That includes five goals and three assists over a five-game point streak.  Kubalik has the lit the lamp in four straight matches during that span.  He has mostly been playing alongside Jonathan Toews, but he has logged some time with Patrick Kane during that time as well.

Dominik Kahun (Pittsburgh) - LW, RW - Owned in 6% of Yahoo leagues

Kahun has picked up one goal and four assists in the past two games, while playing alongside Evgeni Malkin and Bryan RustSidney Crosby is nearing a long-awaited return to the lineup following core muscle surgery, but Kahun stands a good chance to stay with Malkin once that happens.  He is worth picking up until he cools down.

Kailer Yamamoto (Edmonton) - RW - Owned in 4% of Yahoo leagues

Yamamoto has two goals and three assists in six games with the Oilers since he was brought up from the minors in late December.  He has been skating alongside Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.  Yamamoto appears to be clicking with Nugent-Hopkins, who he has set up for three goals since his recall.  The 21-year-old winger has also been credited with 17 hits and two blocks with Edmonton.
