Travis Konecny, who appeared on Waiver Wired last week, went from 4% to a 23% ownership in Yahoo leagues. Nick Schmaltz only had a slight increase from 29% to 33% after he was featured a week ago. He has been red hot with six goals and 11 points in 11 games. Andreas Athanasiou is still available in 91% of Yahoo leagues.

Now, let’s go into this week’s recommendations:
Matt Duchene (OTT) - C, RW - Owned in 39% of Yahoo leagues
Duchene got off to a sluggish start with the Senators, but he has heated up in January with four goals and five assists in his last nine outings. He has been seeing top-line minutes and could be worth revisiting if he’s available because a strong finish to the year isn’t out of the question.
Erik Haula (VGK) - C, LW - Owned in 38% of Yahoo leagues
Haula will return from the All-Star break with a five-game point streak. He has produced two goals and five assists during that span. Haula also has 15 shots and three power-play points over that stretch. He has already hit career highs with 17 goals and 35 points through 44 matches. Haula has meshed nicely as a top-six center on the Golden Knights alongside David Perron and James Neal. Vegas plays four times this week, so if he’s available then Colin Miller (owned in 46% of Yahoo leagues) could make for a solid pickup as well.
Marc-Edouard Vlasic (SJS) - D - Owned in 37% of Yahoo leagues
Vlasic has been all over the scoresheet lately with five goals and 11 points in 12 games this month. He has been held off the board twice in his past eight outings and he has contributed three multi-point performances in three of his last five, including two during his current three-game point streak. Vlasic has two goals and three helpers during that stretch. He also leads the team with 97 blocks in 47 contests, which averages out to 2.1 per game. San Jose is one of five teams that will play four times this week, so Vlasic will get more opportunities to continue his offensive surge.
Anthony Beauvillier (NYI) - C, LW - Owned in 27% of Yahoo leagues
Beauvillier appeared on Waiver Wired a couple of the weeks ago when he was owned in just 1% of Yahoo leagues. He has tallied four goals and one assist in his last three matches. Beauvillier has 10 shots on goal during his recent three-game point streak. He has combined with Mathew Barzal and Jordan Eberle to create a potent second-line trio for the Islanders. Beauvillier should be able to hold that spot when Andrew Ladd returns from injury and if he does then his ownership in fantasy leagues will likely continue to climb.

Ryan Miller (ANA) - G - Owned in 25% of Yahoo leagues
Miller has the potential to be a solid addition for this week if John Gibson is unavailable to play because of a lower-body injury. Gibson was hurt on Thursday and couldn’t finish Anaheim’s 4-3 shootout win over Winnipeg. Miller won the game in relief to lift his record to 6-2-4 on the season. He has two shutouts with a 2.14 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage in 14 appearances this season.
Kyle Okposo (BUF) - RW - Owned in 23% of Yahoo leagues
Okposo just edged out Sam Reinhart (owned in 21% of Yahoo leagues) for this spot. Reinhart has been playing much better, with seven points in his last five games, but he’s still a hard player to trust because of the inconsistency issues he has had this campaign. Okposo got off to a slow start as well, but he has three goals and seven helpers in his past seven matches and he has amassed 18 points in his last 24 contests. He has been skating alongside Jack Eichel at even strength and he sees time on the Sabres’ top power-play unit, which has been operating much smoother recently.
Justin Williams (CAR) - RW - Owned in 17% of Yahoo leagues
Carolina is another team that has four games scheduled for this week. Jordan Staal (owned in 32% of Yahoo leagues) and Victor Rask (owned in 3% of Yahoo leagues) are worthy of your consideration as well, but Williams gets the nod here. He has been productive alongside Teuvo Teravainen and Rask with two goals and two assists in his last four outings. It’s been a good showing for Williams this month with seven points and 25 shots in 11 games.
Jeff Petry (MTL) - D - Owned in 13% of Yahoo leagues
Petry has been filling in admirably for injured blueliner Shea Weber. He has collected 11 points, including five on the power play, in 16 games since Weber last played. Petry has earned one goal and seven helpers in the last eight contests. That was aided by a three-point effort prior to the break, but Petry has been contributing in several categories to make him a viable fantasy option for poolies in deeper leagues. He has compiled 117 hits and 76 blocks in 49 games this year to go along with his 22 points and 101 shots.
Paul Byron (MTL) - LW, RW - Owned in 3% of Yahoo leagues
Byron appeared on Waiver Wired last week, but he is still available in the vast majority of leagues. He is riding a six-game point streak over which he has produced two goals, five assists and 10 shots. Byron has been hot while skating on the top line alongside Max Pacioretty.
Carl Hagelin (PIT) - LW - Owned in 2% of Yahoo leagues
Hagelin has gone long stretches without points this season. However, he appears to have turned the corner with two goals and six assists in his last eight outings. Hagelin experienced his resurgence while playing alongside Evgeni Malkin and Patric Hornqvist. Another under-the-radar option on the Penguins is Dominik Simon (owned in 1% of Yahoo leagues). He has been seeing even-strength action with Sidney Crosby and entered the All-Star break with three goals and one assist over a three-game point streak.
