The Week Ahead

Canucks cannot score

by Michael Finewax
Updated On: October 4, 2018, 4:04 pm ET

If you start your playoffs this week, good luck!

The Vancouver Canucks are having enormous difficulty putting the puck in the net. The last time they did so was Friday March 9 at the 7:51 mark of the second when Jussi Jokinen scored. Since then they have gone 212:09 without a goal.

They miss Brock Boeser but still, no goals in 10-plus periods of hockey. That’s bad.

WEEK OF MARCH 19-25

4 Games – Arizona, Boston, Buffalo, Columbus, Edmonton, Florida, Los Angeles, Montreal, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Vancouver

3 Games – Anaheim, Calgary, Carolina, Chicago, Colorado, Dallas, Detroit, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Ottawa, Philadelphia, St. Louis, San Jose, Tampa Bay, Toronto, Vegas, Washington, Winnipeg

Los Angeles and Vancouver play all four games on the road.

Anaheim, Arizona, Boston, Florida, Nashville and Philadelphia play three games on the road.

Buffalo, Minnesota, the New York Islanders, Ottawa, Pittsburgh, San Jose and Winnipeg play three games at home.

INJURIES

Matthew Tkachuk is out of action with an apparent concussion. (Click here to see the rest of the injury list.)

Note: A tired team is one that has played the day or night before and is going against a team that did not play the previous day or night. The reverse is true for a rested team.

ANAHEIM

Games this week

@ Calgary, @ Winnipeg, @ Edmonton

Rested Team: @ Edmonton (Sunday)

Tired Team: None

Notes

The Ducks play all three games on the Canadian Prairies. John Gibson picked up his third shutout of the season on Wednesday, stopping 32 shots in a 3-0 win over Vancouver. Ryan Getzlaf saw his five game points streak end on Wednesday but he still has nine points in his last five games. Adam Henrique has not had a point in his last four games. Rickard Rakell is pointless in his last two but had eight goals and 11 points in his previous six games. Josh Manson is having a big season in traditional pools with five goals and 30 points to go with a plus-25 rating and 60 penalty minutes. Keep an eye on Hampus Lindholm next season as the defenseman has 10 goals in 58 games despite missing training camp and the start of the season after undergoing off-season surgery.

ARIZONA

Games this week

vs. Calgary, @ Buffalo, @ Carolina, @ Florida

Rested Team: vs. Calgary (Monday)

Tired Team: @ Carolina (Thursday)

Notes

The Coyotes play four games this week including three times in four nights so look for Antti Raanta (if healthy) to play three games with Darcy Kuemper playing once. Raanta has a lower body injury and last played on March 3 but he should be ready to go this week.  If not Adin Hill will get a start in goal. Oliver Ekman-Larsson as scored twice in his last three games. After back-to-back 20-plus goal seasons from the blueline, OEL has struggled the last two seasons to make into double figures. The strange case of Dylan Strome continued this week as the Coyotes recalled him and then sent him back to the minors just a few hours later. The third-overall pick in the 2015 Draft has excelled at the AHL level but struggled in the NHL. He needs his chance to play and play under ideal situations.

BOSTON

Games this week

vs. Columbus, @ St. Louis, @ Dallas, @ Minnesota

Rested Team: @ Minnesota (Sunday)

Tired Team: None

Notes

David Backes could be in trouble with the NHL again. He just finished a three game suspension and now could be facing more discipline for his hit Thursday on the Panthers’ Vincent Trocheck. He helped his fantasy owners in traditional pools with 15 penalty minutes but could hurt the Bruins if he is suspended once again. Jake DeBrusk is day-to-day with an upper body injury. He had two goals and nine points in his eight previous games before the injury. Danton Heinen scored for the first time in 16 games on Tuesday. Brad Marchand returned to the lineup this week after missing a game due to injury. He has 72 points in 56 games and his other stats of plus-31 and 55 penalty minutes, make him a top-five fantasy pick in traditional leagues.

BUFFALO

Games this week

vs. Nashville, vs. Arizona, vs. Montreal, @ New York Rangers

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: @ New York Rangers (Saturday)

Notes

The Buffalo Sabres play four games this week including three games in four nights. Look for Robin Lehner to play three games with Chad Johnson playing once. Of course, Linus Ullmark could get a start as the Sabres are carrying three goalies and it probably makes sense for Ullmark to get the net as the Sabres want to see what he is able to do. Look for Jack Eichel to return to action this week. He has missed the last four-plus weeks with a high ankle injury but has been practicing since Tuesday. Kyle Okposo is out of action with a concussion. Sam Reinhart has five goals and nine points in his last 10 games.

CALGARY

Games this week

@ Arizona, vs. Anaheim, @ San Jose

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: @ Arizona (Monday)

Notes

Matthew Tkachuk could be out for a while as it appears he suffered a concussion on Sunday. The Flames will miss his feisty play as the sophomore is a great example of a power forward. Tkachuk has 24 goals and 49 points this season in 68 games and after 105 penalty minutes as a rookie, he has 61 this season. Johnny Gaudreau hit the 80-point mark for the first time in his career with his 22nd goal of the season Tuesday.  Kris Versteeg is close to returning to action after suffering a hip injury on November 24. He was taken off injured reserve and could return as early as March 16. Micheal Ferland is having a break-out season with 20 goals and 37 points in 66 games.

CAROLINA

Games this week

vs. Edmonton, vs. Arizona, @ Ottawa

Rested Team: None

Tired Team:  vs. Arizona (Thursday)

Notes

Sebastian Aho is showing everyone that there is no such thing as a sophomore slump at least as far as he is concerned as he has 25 goals and 55 points this season. It did not look that way early in the season as he did not find the back of the net in his first 15 games. Cam Ward has struggled of late as he has given up 12 goals in his last three games, all losses. Scott Darling has not been a lot better, as he has given up eight goals in his last three games on only 63 shots. The Hurricanes need to address their goaltending needs again in the off-season. They could also use more offense from their blueline as Noah Hanifin and Justin Faulk lead with only 29 points. There is just over three weeks to go in the regular season and that is not enough scoring from the blueline.

 CHICAGO

Games this week

vs. Colorado, vs. Vancouver, @ New York Islanders

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

Patrick Kane has two goals and 10 points in his last nine games but it has not been a great season for the winger who has only 25 goals and 67 points this season. Connor Murphy has been paired with Duncan Keith for the last couple of weeks and while he contributes in hits and blocked shots, he is not a point-producer. Defenseman Erik Gustafsson has been surprisingly productive of late with five points in three games. All five points came in back-to-back games with Boston so perhaps look at the schedule next season and plan to have Gustafsson in your fantasy lineup when the two teams meet. Anton Forsberg looked sharp against the Bruins giving up one goal on 32 shots but gave it back Thursday by stopping only three of six shots before he was replaced early in the first period.

COLORADO

Games this week

@ Chicago, vs. Los Angeles, vs. Vegas

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

The combination of Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen has been on fire this season as the two youngsters have combined for 159 points thus far. MacKinnon deserves serious consideration for the Hart Trophy as he has 35 goals and 85 points in only 62 games with the sophomore Rantanen garnering 25 goals and 74 points in 69 contests. No wonder the Avs are in playoff consideration after finishing dead last in 2016-17.  Semyon Varlamov has played in 14 consecutive games as Jonathan Bernier and Andrew Hammond are still on the sidelines with head injuries. Nikita Zadorov has been money in the bank of late in traditional leagues. The defenseman has three goals and an assist in nine games with a plus-12 rating and 28 penalty minutes.

COLUMBUS

Games this week

@ Boston, @ New York Rangers, vs. Florida, vs. St. Louis

Rested Team: vs. St. Louis (Saturday)

Tired Team: @ New York Rangers (Tuesday)

Notes

The Blue Jackets play three games in four nights as part of a four game week. Sergei Bobrovsky will get three starts with Joonas Korpisalo playing once. Cam Atkinson had the hat trick Thursday to give him 12 points in his last 10 games. Alexander Wennberg saw his four game points streak end Thursday but he did have seven points during the streak. Seth Jones is having a great season for Columbus and the trade they made in giving up Ryan Johansen has been outstanding. Jones has 49 points thus far and is in consideration (or should be) for the Norris Trophy. I know the Predators are deep on the blueline but they should have done a lot better than Johansen when they gave up Jones.

DALLAS

Games this week

@ Washington, vs. Boston, vs. Vancouver

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

Ben Bishop could be back in action this week as he has missed the last five games with a knee injury. Kari Lehtonen has replaced him as the starter with Mike McKenna sitting on the bench waiting for a chance. John Klingberg gets little recognition around the league but he leads all defensemen in points with 58.  It has not been a great season for Antoine Roussel if you own him. Oh, his penalty minutes are fine with 122 but he has only five goals and 16 points and a 15 goal, 30 point season was expected at the start of the season. Martin Hanzal is gone for six-seven months as he needs spinal fusion surgery. His healthy return for the start of next season could be in doubt.

DETROIT

Games this week

vs. Philadelphia, vs. Washington, @ Toronto

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

Frans Nielsen returned to action on Thursday after missing three games with concussion-like symptoms. Tyler Bertuzzi has scored only twice in 36 games this season but does have seven points in his last eight games.  Gustav Nyquist has goals in back-to-back games to give him 18 this season. Henrik Zetterberg has scored only once on the power play this season but has 14 assists. Outside of Nyquist’s 18 goals and Anthony Mantha’s 23, no Red Wing has 15 this season. Mike Green got off to a great offensive start with the Red Wings this season as he had a goal and 17 points in his first 19 games but it has been downhill since then with six goals and 15 points in 44 contests.

EDMONTON

Games this week

@ Carolina, @ Ottawa, vs. Los Angeles, vs Anaheim

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: vs. Edmonton (Sunday)

Notes

The Oilers are in action four times including three in four nights. Cam Talbot should play three games, while Al Montoya will get the call once. The only good story on the Oilers this season continues to be Connor McDavid who has 86 points, with little help around him save for Leon Draisaitl. McDavid is third in the NHL in scoring and could still win the Art Ross. Look at Oscar Klefbom again next season in fantasy and throw this campaign out the window. Klefbom had a minor procedure done on his shoulder than forced him to miss a couple of games but had a goal and an assist in his return. He had 38 points last year but only 21 thus far. He likely will have off-season surgery to repair his shoulder and should be good to go in October.

FLORIDA

Games this week

@ Montreal, @ Ottawa, @ Columbus, vs. Arizona

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: @ Ottawa (Tuesday)

Notes

The Panthers play four games this week including three games in four nights so look for Roberto Luongo to play three games with James Reimer getting the call once. Reimer had a 45-save shutout on Thursday to lower his GAA to 3.06 but the Panthers will need to rely on Luongo the rest of the way save for back-to-back games. Nick Bjugstad has been hot of late with five goals and 11 points in his last eight games. The red-hot Panthers are on the cusp of the playoffs and have been one of the hottest teams in the NHL of late. Evgenii Dadonov has been gold to the Panthers this season as he has 22 goals and 54 points in only 60 games.  He is fourth in scoring on the Panthers behind Aleksander Barkov, Vincent Trocheck and Jonathan Huberdeau.

LOS ANGELES

Games this week

@ Minnesota, @ Winnipeg, @ Colorado, @ Edmonton

Rested Team:  None

Tired Team: @ Winnipeg (Tuesday)

Notes

The Kings play three games in four nights this week as part of a four game week. Jonathan Quick should play three games with Jack Campbell getting one start. Quick gave up four goals in two periods before being pulled on March 10 but has given up only two goals in three games outside of that effort of late. After a goal and three assist night on Thursday, Anze Kopitar has 29 goals and 80 points, one point less than his career best of 81 set in the 2009-10 season. He still has 11 games left and after last season’s disaster of 52 points, Kopitar is back among the best in the NHL. Drew Doughty has seven points in his last four games to give him 51 this season. Jeff Carter has six goals in his last nine games.

MINNESOTA

Games this week

vs. Los Angeles, vs. Nashville, vs. Boston

Rested Team: vs. Boston (Sunday)

Tired Team: None

Notes

Jared Spurgeon will miss at least the next four weeks with a partial tear of his right hamstring. This injury will hurt, especially if he is unable to go in the first round of the playoffs. Mikko Koivu is having a disappointing offensive campaign with only 13 goals and 39 points this season in 70 games. He has had 50-plus points in three of his last four years. Matt Dumba has 10 goals and 38 points and is part of a big three offensively on the blueline for the Wild. Spurgeon has 37 points while Ryan Suter has 47. There was a lot of talk in the off-season that the Wild would make Dumba available in the expansion draft.  Good thing they didn’t.

MONTREAL

Games this week

vs. Florida, @ Pittsburgh, @ Buffalo, vs. Washington

Rested Team: @ Pittsburgh (Wednesday)

Tired Team: vs. Washington (Saturday)

Notes

The Canadiens play four games this week including three in four nights. Montreal’s goaltending is a mess with Carey Price out. Antti Niemi just returned from a lower body injury and should get three starts with Charlie Lindgren getting the call once. Of course, if Carey Price is ready to return after suffering a concussion on February 20, then all bets are off. Price practiced on Thursday for the first time and if he is able to return this week, he could play a couple of times. Andrew Shaw is hurt again and it could be a concussion. Stay tuned. Shea Weber is out for the season as he underwent surgery to repair tendons in his left foot. The recovery time is expected to be six months so he should be ready for the start of the 2018-19 season.

 NASHVILLE

Games this week

@ Buffalo, vs. Toronto, @ Minnesota, @ Winnipeg

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: @ Winnipeg (Sunday)

Notes

The Predators play three games this week in four nights as part of a four game week. Juuse Saros should get the call once with Pekka Rinne playing the other three contests. Rinne is in the talk for the Vezina and has won his last 10 games to give him 39 wins.  Calle Jarnkrok is out for the remainder of the regular season with an upper body injury. Roman Josi returned to action after missing four games on Sunday. Auston Watson does not have too many assists (three) but does have 12 goals and 99 penalty minutes.  He has been a stud on the penalty kill as well with four shorthanded goals. Ryan Johansen is not having a good offensive season with only 11 goals and 45 points in 67 games. He does have 68 penalty minutes.

NEW JERSEY

Games this week

@ San Jose, @ Pittsburgh, vs. Tampa Bay

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: vs. Tampa Bay (Saturday)

Notes

The Devils complete their six game road trip with Friday’s game in Pittsburgh. Taylor Hall had a goal and an assist Wednesday to break a two game pointless drought. Michael Grabner picked up his first points in a Devils uniform Wednesday with a goal and two points. He has 26 goals and 33 points this season in 68 games. Keith Kinkaid has won his last three games, despite giving up nine goals. He has faced 111 shots however in the three contests. Joseph Bratt has been a healthy scratch in two of the last five games. Will Butcher is on a four game points streak. Nico Hischier has 15 goals and 45 points this season and look for even more next year from the 2017 first overall pick in the draft.

NEW YORK ISLANDERS

Games this week

vs. Pittsburgh, vs. Tampa Bay, vs. Chicago

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

Sure-fire Calder winner Mathew Barzal hit the 70-point mark on Thursday becoming only the seventh rookie in the salary cap era to hit the mark. The others: Alex Ovechkin, Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Paul Stastny, Artemi Panarin and Patrick Kane. Not bad company. The Islanders are in big trouble as far as getting a spot in the playoffs. Johnny Boychuk had a huge game fantasy-wise Sunday as he had a goal and two assists with a plus-five rating. John Tavares has only a goal and five point in his last 10 games. You have to wonder if the weight of whether or not he re-signs with the Islanders is bothering him. Like last season, Anders Lee leads the Islanders in goals, with 33 thus far.

NEW YORK RANGERS

Games this week

vs. Columbus, @ Philadelphia, vs. Buffalo

Rested Team: vs. Columbus (Tuesday), vs. Buffalo (Saturday)

Tired Team: None

Notes

Let’s start the Rangers piece with the usual Ryan Spooner update. He has two goals and 13 points in nine games since his trade from Boston. The Rangers may have found their goalie of the future as young Alexandar Georgiev, who turned 22 just a month ago, has won his last two starts, giving up six goals on 84 shots. Usual backup Ondrej Pavelec faced some shots on Wednesday for the first time since spraining his MCL on February 9. I don’t think the Rangers will rush him back while Georgiev is playing so well. Chris Kreider has two goals and eight points in his last eight games including a four point effort Wednesday. Mats Zuccarello leads the Rangers with 48 points.

OTTAWA

Games this week

vs. Florida, vs. Edmonton, vs. Carolina

Rested Team: vs. Florida (Tuesday)

Tired Team: None

Notes

Mark Stone is expected to return this week from a leg injury. The Senators top scorer will have missed four games heading into the Florida game. Chris Wideman is hoping to return to action before the end of the season as he has been out of action his November 16 with a hamstring injury that required surgery. Marian Gaborik broke a 10 game pointless drought with a goal and an assist Tuesday. Ryan Dzingel scored his 20th of the season Tuesday, for the first time in his NHL career. Erik Karlsson has eight goals and 46 assists in 64 games but his minus-26 rating is the worst on the Senators. In comparison, Stone is a plus-nine.

PHILADELPHIA

Games this week

@ Detroit, vs. New York Rangers, @ Pittsburgh

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

Claude Giroux has an eight-game scoring streak and is up to 26 goals and 83 points in 71 games. He has 11 goals and 25 points in his last 18 contests as well. Travis Konecny has 30 points in his last 34 games after starting the season with 10 points in his first 36 games. The Flyers signed Carsen Twarynski, Matthew Strome and Maxim Sushko to entry-level deals this week. Goaltenders Michal Neuvirth and Brian Elliott were both expected to start skating this week.  The Flyers recalled Travis Sanheim from the minors and he may never go back as he looks ready to remain in the NHL. Robert Hagg is out another week with a lower body injury. Oskar Lindblom has nary a point in 12 games.

PITTSBURGH

Games this week

@ New York Islanders, vs. Montreal, vs. New Jersey, vs. Philadelphia

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: vs. Montreal (Wednesday)

Notes

The Penguins play four games this week including three games in four nights. Look for Casey DeSmith and Tristan Jarry to split the net as Matt Murray is still dealing with a concussion. Murray is travelling with the Penguins on their current road trip. Bryan Rust scored in his return from a concussion Wednesday and picked up his 11th goal.Derick Brassard has assists in each of his last two games to give him four points in nine games as a Penguin. Evgeni Malkin became the third player this season to hit the 40 goal mark and that gives him 89 points in 68 games. It looks like he will play in 70-plus games for only the second time in nine years.

ST. LOUIS

Games this week

vs. Boston, vs. Vancouver, @ Columbus

Rested Team: vs. Vancouver (Friday)

Tired Team: @ Columbus (Saturday)

Notes

The Blues play three games in four nights so Carter Hutton should get two starts with Jake Allen getting the crease once. Hutton has missed the last couple of games with a neck injury. Alex Pietrangelo has been hot of late with three goals and six points in his last seven games. There is a lack of scoring on the Blues this season as Brayden Schenn and Vladimir Tarasenko lead with 58 points apiece. Jaden Schwartz has 49 points in 50 games and while Alexander Steen has 40 points, no other forward has 30. Paul Stastny was a to-six forward but was dealt to Winnipeg for some assets as the Blues did not want to lose him for nothing as a free agent.

SAN JOSE

Games this week

vs. New Jersey, vs. Vegas, vs. Calgary

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

There should be an update later on Friday on Evander Kane as he apparently was injured Wednesday. He missed a couple of shifts in the game and played 10 seconds under 20 minutes but was evaluated after the game. Read Rotoworld blurbs for more information. All of a sudden Mikkel Boedker is hot with 13 points in his last 14 games including six goals. The Sharks inked Maxim Letunov to an entry-level deal. Tim Heed is back in the minors. Antoine Bibeau has agreed to a two-year extension but with Martin Jones and Aaron Dell ahead of him, there could be no place to go on the NHL roster. Jones has won three of his last four, giving up seven goals on 95 shots.

TAMPA BAY

Games this week

vs. Toronto, @ New York Islanders, @ New Jersey

Rested team: @ New Jersey (Saturday)

Tired Team: None

Notes

J.T. Miller has gone from a third liner on a mediocre New York Rangers team to a top line player for the top team in the NHL, the Lightning. Miller is playing alongside Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov and has five goals and nine points in his last six games. He is up to 18 goals and 49 points and has a good chance to top his point total of 56 last season which was a career high. The Lightning may get Ondrej Palat back on St. Patrick’s Day as he has been out of the lineup since January 20 with a lower body injury. Peter Budaj was taken off injured reserve and Louis Domingue was sent to the minors Tuesday as Budaj will back up Andrei Vasilevskiy. Stamkos had three assists Tuesday and has 82 points this season.

TORONTO

Games this week

@ Tampa Bay, @ Nashville, vs. Detroit

Rested team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

The Maple Leafs should have Auston Matthews back this week and it could be as soon as March 17 as the center has been out of action with a shoulder injury since February 22. Frederik Andersen suffered an upper body injury Wednesday and was taken out of the game after giving up three goals on 20 shots. Curtis McElhinney relieved him Wednesday and got the start and win on Thursday to give him a 9-4-1 record with a 2.25 GAA and a .931 save percentage. The Maple Leafs are getting great goaltending from their backup. James van Riemsdyk has five goals and six points in his last two games and set a career high in goals as he has 31. Mitch Marner leads the Maple Leafs in points with 59.

VANCOUVER

Games this week

@ Vegas, @ Chicago, @ St. Louis, @ Dallas

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: @ St. Louis (Thursday)

Notes

The Canucks play four times this week including three games in four nights. All four games are on the road so look for Jacob Markstrom and Anders Nilsson to split the net this week. Erik Gudbranson will undergo shoulder surgery that ends his season. Henrik Sedin has scored only twice this season in 71 games. Only defensemen Troy Stecher, Ben Hutton and Alex Biega have less goals on the Canucks. Sam Gagner has been a disappointment as the Canucks thought he would be a better offensive player than he has shown. Gagner has only seven goals and 25 points this season in 63 games.  Chris Tanev is still out of the lineup with a leg injury since February 8.

VEGAS

Games this week

vs. Vancouver, @ San Jose, @ Colorado

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

Congratulations go out to Marc-Andre Fleury who picked up his 400th career win Monday to become the 13th goalie in NHL history to hit the milestone. James Neal has been cleared for contact and he skated with William Karlsson and Tomas Hyka in practice Thursday. He has been out since February 26 and has played only once in the Golden Knights last 12 games as he has had an upper body injury. It was not a good night on Wednesday to have Vegas players in your fantasy lineup as they were shelled 8-3. Erik Haula and David Perron were all minus-five while Tomas Tatar, Deryk Engelland and Nate Schmidt were each a minus-four. Luca Sbisa is out with an undisclosed injury and it’s more than day-to-day.

WASHINGTON

Games this week

vs. Dallas, @ Detroit, @ Montreal

Rested team: @ Montreal (Saturday)

Tired Team: None

Notes

Congratulations also go out to Alex Ovechkin who scored twice on Monday to hit the 600 goal mark for his career. He became the fourth fastest in history to the mark as only Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and Brett Hull did it quicker. After scoring just once in 33 games, T.J. Oshie scored twice on Thursday to give him 14 this season. John Carlson is only two points behind John Klingberg for the lead among defensemen as he has 56. Evgeni Kuznetsov has 69 points in 70 games and has a great chance to beat his record of 77 points set two seasons ago. Philipp Grubauer has started four straight games as Braden Holtby has struggled of late. Holtby will get the start on March 16 and is 1-5-2 in his last eight.

WINNIPEG

Games this week

vs. Los Angeles, vs. Anaheim, vs. Nashville

Rested team: vs. Los Angeles (Tuesday), vs. Nashville (Sunday)

Tired Team: None

Notes

As written before, Connor Hellebuyck started the season as the backup to Steve Mason so his fantasy value was negligible at the time of most drafts. But Hellebuyck got the start in game three of the season and never gave the net back as he is 36-11-9 with a 2.35 GAA and a .925 save percentage and is the undisputed number one goalie with the Jets. Mark Scheifele practiced with the team on Thursday and could return this week. He has missed the last five games with an upper body injury. He has 51 points in 50 games this season.  Jacob Trouba returned to action after being out since January 25 with a lower body injury. He had two assists in his return. Kyle Connor scored twice as the rookie hit the 25-goal mark on Thursday.
